There are two different ways you could be financially involved in supporting Elizabeth: through Teen Missions (mailed to us) and through Barnabas International (mailed directly to the Barnabas office).

If you are interested in supporting Elizabeth on her trip, we can send you information on her summer ministry as well as how to make a contribution to Teen Missions. Just send us an email (warner@barnabas.org). As of today--April 9, 2008--she still needs to raise another $ 900. This money is for the actual expenses for the mission project.

Donations may also be sent to Barnabas International, which is operating an account for her to cover additional expenses (visa, immunizations, airfare). As of today--April 9, 2008--she still needs another $ 1,100 to cover these additional expenses. Checks should be made out to "Barnabas International" with a separate note included indicating the check is for Elizabeth. Checks should be mailed to:

Barnabas International
PO Box 11211
Rockford, IL 61126-1211

Phone: (815) 395-1335
Email: office@barnabas.org

Thank you to the many individuals who have prayed for Elizabeth and supported her last year on her trip to Tanzania, and this year as well. (She also went to Bosnia in January 2008 on a school mission trip).

Thanks for considering supporting Elizabeth's summer mission trip to Nicaragua.

Charley and Cheryl Warner
Barnabas International
Vienna, Austria

Email: warner@barnabas.org

March-April 2008

Vol. 22, No. 3-4

Dear Family and Friends,

We’ve been keeping our travel agent busy. Charley is headed to Ukraine in April for an accreditation visit at a seminary, and a few days later to Armenia to teach a missions course at the Armenian Baptist Seminary. Here’s a look at where he has been lately and what’s ahead for all of us for the summer.

European Member Care Consultation in France

From February 26 to March 2 Charley attended the European Member Care Consultation near Lille, France. He organized the small groups, facilitated the evening session on “Burning Issues” in Member Care and rejoined the Member Care Europe steering group as the representative for Central and Eastern Europe. Please pray for him as he seeks to find a national from Eastern Europe who can be on the Steering Group. Even though there is much interest and involvement in mission work in our part of the world, interest in taking care of missionaries is only beginning.

At the same conference Charley was asked to be one of the liaisons to mission movements in Central and Eastern Europe for the European Evangelical Missionary Alliance (EEMA). Over the next few years Charley will be traveling to visit new mission movements throughout the region, bringing encouragement and counsel. Charley will also be on the Organizing Committee for the EEMA’s next conference in November 2009. Please pray for Charley in this new role.

Financial update

Our Barnabas International support account is still in the black thanks to several generous donations we received in November and December 2007. Thank you! However, that surplus is slowly dwindling as the US Dollar loses value. As of April 8th the US Dollar is $1.57 to 1 Euro. When we planned our annual budget last year the exchange rate was $1.30 to 1 Euro. So over the course of the last year the US Dollar has dropped by 20% in value. Please pray that the US Dollar will strengthen against the Euro.

Ministry and hospitality in Vienna

Charley will soon begin his service on the Vienna Christian School (VCS) School Board. With his experience in educational accreditation in the former Soviet Union, he will be able to assist in the reaccreditation process that VCS will go through next year with ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). Cheryl will continue her part-time work next year producing publications for VCS, and will also assist in producing written reports for accreditation requirements.

Missionary friends who go way back with us to early days in Odessa (1991) recently spent several days in our home, giving us the joy of catching up and of extending hospitality. Although we had both moved and had not seen each other for many years, Charley “happened” to contact these friends just a few weeks before their planned trip to Vienna. Their 11-year-old niece, who recently came to live with them in Europe following the death of her father, also stayed with us. It was sweet to watch a friendship bloom between her and our own dear 11-year-old Laura. We want to continue to encourage this girl, who is grieving the loss of a parent, adjusting to a new family situation, living in a foreign country, and finding out what it means to live as a child of missionaries. Pray for Priscilla. We thank God for the opportunities He brings us to encourage missionaries on the field.

Family updates

Melissa is deciding this month which college she will attend in the fall. Please pray for her to know God’s leading. She is also playing a lead role in the school production of Disney’s High School Musical. She graduates June 11.

Elizabeth is also in the musical at school. She is taking guitar lessons and is studying for an AP exam in World History to be taken May 15th. She is preparing for her summer mission trip to Nicaragua with Teen Missions, and is raising financial and prayer support for that. If you are interested in supporting her for that trip, we can send you information on how to make a contribution to Teen Missions. Donations can also be sent to Barnabas International, which is operating an account for her to cover additional expenses (visa, immunizations, airfare). A separate note should be included indicating the check is for Elizabeth. Thank you to the many individuals who have prayed for Elizabeth and supported her last year on her trip to Tanzania, and this year as well. She also went to Bosnia in January on a school mission trip.

Laura is finishing up fifth grade. She loves to read, cook, email her friends in America and drink tea with mom. She is in drama club at school and sings with the worship team for chapel.

Emily has just joined a baseball team for boys and girls, but turned out to be the only girl! She loves horses, reading and talking. Her third-grade teacher just got engaged, and Emily can tell you all about the ring and wedding plans.

Cancellation of airline miles idea
Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the idea of friends and family donating miles for tickets this summer. Thank you to those who offered miles. However, in the end the combined amount of miles was not enough to buy a ticket. In addition, we discovered the number of award mileage seats available in the “Star Alliance” is minimal for summer travel and such seats were booked up until September.

We are thankful to those who have donated money to buy four of the six tickets we need for the summer to attend the 50th anniversary celebration for Charley’s parents. If you are interested in donating money for our tickets, please contact us.

2. Pray for our personal walks with the Lord to be fresh and vital, and for our children’s growth as well.

3. Pray for the US Dollar to strengthen against the Euro. It now is at $ 1.57 USD to 1 Euro.

4. Pray for our oldest daughter, Melissa, as she finishes her senior year at VCS and decides where to attend college in the US. Pray for the Lord to direct her to the right place and for the finances she'll need.
Pray for Cheryl as she is working at Vienna

The new year is in full swing with a busy travel schedule ahead. But the year began with a surprise.

Moscow trip cancelled

Charley was due to travel to Moscow, Russia January 14-19 to attend a seminar for writing online courses sponsored by the EAAA, for which he is the International Assistant. But God had other plans. When he went to apply for a visa at the Russian Consulate in Vienna they wouldn’t even consider his application. We’re hoping that this is a one-off fluke and not a future pattern which might hinder his ministering in Russia in the future. Needless to say, Charley was very disappointed in not being able to go to Moscow as he had to cancel several meetings with missionaries that he had already had set up.

Note: A major prayer request is for missionaries in Russia facing new visa regulations. These new regulations might require missionaries to leave the country every 90 days and stay out of the country for 90 days before they could return to Russia. Missionaries would also be required to apply for new visas only when they are in their passport country; in other words, American missionaries would have to apply for a Russian visa only while they were in the States and only to the Russian Consulate in Washington, D.C.; Australian citizens could only apply in Australia, and so forth. You can imagine how these new regulations might be highly disruptive for missionary families from around the world, especially in regard to schooling their children. It could be that many missionaries currently in Russia will move to Ukraine and then occasionally travel to Russia for ministry.

Upcoming Ministry Travel:
Illinois, Florida, Minnesota, California, Ohio, Texas, Louisiana . . . Grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, many friends . . .

We’re thankful for a year in America and the chance to visit supporting churches and see so many of you. Then Austria, Ukraine, Armenia, Hungary, Czech Republic . . . Time spent with missionaries, national colleagues, seminary students, more friends . . . Mission trips for our girls to Mexico and Tanzania, learning about other people and cultures and depending on God in new ways.

It’s been a remarkable year. We thank God for keeping us safe through the miles, for giving us the gift of time with people we love, for upholding us through the changes, and for working in and through us along the way.

Merry Christmas to you, and thank you for the part you play in our lives and the place you have in our hearts.

Charley and Cheryl
Melissa, Elizabeth, Laura & Emily

Left: Elizabeth with Baby Destiny in an orphanage in Tanzania

Charley and Melissa at EAAA conference in Ukraine

Cheryl editing in Wheaton

Home in Vienna with Bingo

Melissa on train in Ukraine eating pelmyeni

Tax-deductible gifts for the Warners’ ministry can be sent to:

Barnabas International
P.O. In 1991 we had stayed in Moscow with Ray and Cindy, on our way to moving to Odessa; Melissa was 16 months old at the time.

The rest of the week was spent at the 10th anniversary conference of the Euro-Asian Accrediting Association (EAAA). Charley is the International Assistant for the EAAA, which accredits evangelical theological schools in the countries of the former Soviet Union, translates and publishes theological textbooks from German and English into Russian, conducts faculty development seminars, and promotes online theological education, among other important projects. At this year's conference in Irpen, Ukraine, we had 44 of the 55 member schools in attendance with more than 120 participants.

As the EAAA International Assistant, Charley helped with the administration of the conference, especially with foreign guests, and also gave a report on the EAAA's international relationships and partnerships. During the conference Melissa met Olga Zaprometova, Academic Dean of the Eurasian Theological Seminary in Moscow, Russia. We first met Olga in December 1989, while living with a family in Moscow for two months. At that time Cheryl was expecting Melissa. After the conference was over the EAAA Board met to discuss accreditation visits, projects and other Association work.

From Kiev they traveled 2 1/2 hours southeast by minibus to the city of Cherkassy, Ukraine, where they visited one of Charley's former students at the Odessa Theological Seminary, Victor Sinelnikov, and his family. Victor is assisting Charley with his English-Russian Glossary of Theological Terminology. Victor's children were some of Melissa's playmates when we lived in Odessa. From Cherkassy they took an overnight train to Odessa. While on the train they enjoyed one of our favorite foods--pelmeni--which are like meat-stuffed ravioli without the tomato sauce. Delicious!

In Odessa they had lunch with Sergei and Tanya Sannikov at the EAAA offices in Odessa. Sergei founded the Odessa Theological Seminary and is the Executive Director of the EAAA. We first met Sergei at a theological education conference in Vienna, Austria, in August 1990. Melissa was 6 months old at the time and loved to pull on Sergei's beard! We praise the Lord for the 17 years (and counting) of ministry partnership with Sergei.

The trip was special as they enjoyed some father-daughter time and Melissa saw childhood places and friends from when we lived in Odessa. All this was prior to Melissa heading to college next fall.

Trip photos can be found on our blog at: http://ccwarner.blogspot.com

Budapest in November
As you receive this Charley will have just finished attending the European Evangelical Missions Association meetings in Budapest, Hungary, November 14-17. These meetings annually bring together mission leaders and missionaries from all across Europe. This is the first time Charley will be attending the EEMA meetings. He will be assisting with a presentation on member care of missionaries.

Financial update
For the month of November we received 73% of our normal salary, our account at Barnabas is in the red at -$ 2,700, and the US Dollar has dropped even further to $ 1.47 to 1 Euro. We’ve already canceled one ministry trip in each month of November, December and January. Please pray for us and our financial support situation. If you can give an extra gift by the end of the year we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Airline miles needed to get to wedding anniversary
Next summer is Charley’s parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. The celebrations will be in Venice, Florida, the first week of August 2008. For our entire family to go would cost over $7,500, coming from Europe at the height of the summer season. This cost is prohibitive for us, yet we want to honor Charley's parents with our presence on such an important occasion. Maybe you can help us.

Right now the cheapest airline is Austrian Air, which is part of the “Star Alliance” with United. It takes 50,000 miles to purchase one round-trip overseas ticket, so we need a total of 300,000 miles. If you are interested in donating some miles toward the purchase of our tickets, we would greatly appreciate it. Just contact us at either of our email addresses below.

2. Pray for our personal walks with the Lord to be fresh and vital, and for our children’s growth as well. against the Euro.

4. Pray for our oldest daughter, Melissa, as she finishes her senior year at VCS and applies to colleges in the US. Pray for the Lord to direct her to the right place and for the finances she'll need.

5. Pray for Cheryl as she is working at Vienna Christian School and in freelance editing. Pray for more paid editing work to come her way.
<p class="MsoNormal" style="border: medium none ; This trip included times of ministry with missionaries, nationals and the EAAA conference, as well as a trip down memory lane for Melissa as she saw many familiar sites from when we lived in Odessa from 1991-1999. She wanted one last trip to Ukraine before she heads to college next year.

Here's some pictures from their trip.

Enjoy.

Charley and Cheryl
-----------------------------------------
We began our trip in Kiev staying with Ray and Cindy LeClair, Eurasia Directors for ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). We had stayed with Ray and Cindy for a week back in July 1991, on our way to moving to Odessa; Melissa was 16 months old at the time.

This is Melissa in the Maidan or Independence Square in Kiev. We first met Olga in December 1989 when we lived with a family in Moscow for three months. At the time Cheryl was 7 months pregnant with Melissa. This conference was the first time Olga and Melissa had met.

Also at the conference was College Church in Wheaton missionary Chad Wiebe who serves with SEND International in Krasnoyarsk (Siberia), Russia. We first met Chad's wife, Lena, in Odessa in the early 1990s before we had met Chad! It's amazing what a jar of soup can do.

After the conference was over the EAAA Board met to discuss accreditation visits, projects and other Association work. Charley is in the yellow shirt and tie on the right.

From Kiev we traveled 2 1/2 hours southeast by minibus to the city of Cherkassy, Ukraine where we visited with one of Charley's former students at the Odessa Theological Seminary, Victor Sinelnikov, and his family. Victor is assisting Charley with his English-Russian Glossary of Theological Terminology. Victor's children were some of Melissa's playmates when we lived in Odessa.

From Cherkassy we took an overnight train to Odessa. While on the train we enjoyed one of our favorite foods--pelmeni--which are like meat-stuffed ravioli without the tomato sauce. In this case, we added ketchup. Delicious!

After we arrived in Odessa we had lunch with Sergei and Tanya Sannikov at the EAAA offices in Odessa. Sergei founded the Odessa Theological Seminary and is the Executive Director of the EAAA. We first met Sergei at a theological education conference in Vienna, Austria in August 1990. Melissa was 6 months old at the time and loved to pull on Sergei's beard! We praise the Lord for the 17 years (and counting) of ministry partnership with Sergei.

Melissa in front of the recently remodeled and reopened Odessa Opera House. The decorated limosines are in the photo because we were standing next to the wedding palace. The light blue flags in the background were part of the beginnings of a protest about the rededication of a monument to Catherine the Great who ruled Russia in the 18th century.

Our trip came to an end on Monday October 29th with a 5:15 AM flight from Odessa back to Vienna. God has been faithful all these many years both in our family and in our ministry. Thank you for your ongoing prayer and financial support.

Warners' October 2007--Prayer Letter

Hello to all our friends and family!

Here's our latest prayer letter.

Charley and Cheryl
--------------------------------------
October 2007
Vol. 21, No. 10
Dear Family and Friends,

In mid-September we celebrated the 20th anniversary of our arrival on the mission field. We thank God for His faithfulness and for allowing us to continue in ministry in Europe. The next benchmark anniversary comes October 22nd, the date Charley became a Christian 30 years ago.

Vienna, Prague, and Next Door
The girls have all gone back to school, and Cheryl has literally joined them this year. She has taken a part-time job in the communications area at Vienna Christian School, working with publications and special editing assignments. This gives us a substantial tuition reduction, helping with our budget, and she enjoys the work and the bonus of being near the girls. Laura and Emily are new to this school and have adjusted well. Emily spent a few weeks in second grade but just moved into third grade, and we pray that this new challenge continues to go well for her. (Cheryl is also seeking additional freelance editing work. She would appreciate any leads for editing or proofreading jobs. Contact her at cheryl@barnabas.org.)

Charley spent a few days in September in Prague with a missionary family who have been battered by many trials. He was able to help them think through their situation and bring encouragement to them.

One Sunday evening in September, Cheryl had an unprecedented opportunity to share Christ with our neighbor, who resides next door only sporadically. She went to retrieve a volleyball that went over the fence, and stayed for a long, in-depth conversation. This single woman is seeking and was surprisingly open. Please pray for Karin’s eyes to be open to the truth of the gospel and for her to embrace Christ.

Member Care Conference in Budapest
Charley helped organize the 2nd Central European Member Care Conference, which was held September 27-30 in Budapest. He also gave a talk on “The Role of the Local Church in Caring for Missionaries,” focusing especially on furlough. This conference was designed to help equip missionaries and nationals from Central Europe for their own ministries of encouragement.

Future Ministry Travel/Activities
Oct. 20-27 Charley in Kiev for the 10th anniversary meetings of the Euro-Asian Accrediting Association.

Nov. 14-18 Charley in Budapest for the European Evangelical Missions Association meetings.

Ukraine in October
October 22-25, 2007, will mark the 10th anniversary conference of the Euro-Asian Accrediting Association (EAAA). Charley is the International Assistant for the EAAA, which accredits evangelical theological schools in the countries of the former Soviet Union, translates and publishes theological textbooks from German and English into Russian, conducts faculty development seminars, and promotes online theological education, among other important projects. This year's conference will be held in Irpin, Ukraine, just outside of Kiev. Pray for Charley as he organizes and attends this event. Melissa will travel with him to Ukraine, visiting Odessa (where half her childhood was spent), Kiev and Cherkassy, and enjoying some father-daughter time.

Financial Update
Although we are not quite at 100 percent of our support target, we are in a much better position than we were in a year ago. We do, however, fight discouragement when we look at the still declining value of the dollar. As of the end of September the exchange rate is $1.42 to 1 Euro, an all-time high. When Cheryl recently visited a dentist after breaking a tooth and was told the necessary crown would cost 700 Euros (about $1,000) not covered by insurance, she joked that it would be cheaper to fly to the U.S. to have the work done. (We did find a much cheaper option in Hungary, about an hour away, with a dentist who is highly recommended.) But the high Euro is really a serious matter for all U.S.-sent missionaries living in the Euro-zone. Please pray for us to continue to trust in the Lord God, our Provider, and not be discouraged by the high cost of living.

Airline miles needed to get to wedding anniversaryNext summer is Charley’s parents’ 50th wedding anniversary.

Right now the cheapest airline is Austrian Air which is part of the “Star Alliance” with United. It takes 50,000 miles to purchase one round-trip overseas ticket, so we need a total of 300,000 miles. If you are interested in donating some miles toward the purchase of our tickets, we would greatly appreciate it. Just contact us at either of our email addresses below.

Thanksgiving and prayer items
1. Praise God for 20 years overseas and 30 years of knowing Christ for Charley.
2. Pray for our personal walks with the Lord to be fresh and vital, and for our children’s growth as well.
3. Pray for the US Dollar to strengthen against the Euro.
4. Pray for our oldest daughter, Melissa, as she finishes her senior year at VCS and applies to colleges in the US. Pray for the Lord to direct her to the right place and for the finances she'll need.
5. Pray for Cheryl as she adjusts to working again both at Vienna Christian School and in freelance editing. Pray for more paid editing work to come her way.

Thank you for prayers and partnership with us. The celebrations will be in Venice, Florida, the first week of August 2008. For our entire family to go would cost over $7,500 coming from Europe at the height of the summer season.

This cost is prohibitive for us and yet we feel compelled to honor Charley's parents with our presence on such an important occasion. Maybe you can help us.

Right now the cheapest airline is Austrian Air which is part of the “Star Alliance” with United. It takes 50,000 miles to purchase one round-trip overseas ticket so we need a total of 300,000 miles.

If you are interested in donating some miles towards the purchase of our tickets we would greatly appreciate it. Just contact us at either of our email addresses below.

Thanks.

Charley and Cheryl Warner
Barnabas International
Vienna, Austria

Charley: warner@barnabas.org
Cheryl: cheryl@barnabas.org

Warner Prayer Update--24 September 2007

Dear friends and family,

Greetings from Vienna.

Several friends have asked for recent or new prayer requests which we have listed below.

Thanks for praying!

Charley and Cheryl Warner
Barnabas International
Based in Vienna, Austria
Missionaries to the former Soviet Union since 1987
--------------------------------------------------------------
Prayer Requests for the Warner Family

1. Our daughter, Emily, has this week moved up to 3rd grade from 2nd grade at Vienna Christian School (VCS). This is the grade she should be in but because of a late August birthday was put back a grade while we were on furlough in the States last year. School has been going on for three weeks already. Please pray that she makes a smooth adjustment.

2. Charley has helped organize and and will be one of the speakers at a conference on caring for missionaries this week (September 28-30) in Budapest. Please pray that the conference would run smoothly, that both missionaries and nationals from Central Europe will be encouraged in their ministry of encouragement, and that Charley's talk on Caring for Missionaries on Furlough would go well. Thanks.

3. We praise the Lord for two anniversaries that took place last Saturday. The one was Cheryl's birthday. The other was the 20th anniversary of our arrival on the mission field. We praise the Lord for his faithfulness. (BTW, October 22nd will mark Charley's 30th spiritual anniversary when he became a Christian.)

4. Please pray for the US Dollar to strengthen against the Euro, the European currency. As of today it stands at $ 1.41 to buy 1 Euro. This is an impending financial disaster for all missionaries living in the Euro-zone. For us personally, if the US Dollar continues to weakened we might have to seriously consider leaving the mission field for lack of adequate financial support.

Cheryl has already taken on a two-days-a-week job at Vienna Christian School (VCS) for which we receive a 40% tuition break. She is also continuing to do freelance editing work. If you know of anyone that could use freelance editing work done over the Internet please contact Cheryl (cheryl@barnabas.org).

5. October 22-25. 2007, will mark the 10th anniversary conference of the Euro-Asian Accrediting Association (EAAA). Charley is the International Assistant for the EAAA, which accredits evangelical theological schools in the countries of the former Soviet Union, translates and publishes theological textbooks from German and English into Russian, conducts faculty development seminars, promotes online theological education, amongst other important projects. This year's conference will be held in Irpin, Ukraine, just outside of Kiev. Pray for Charley as he organizes

6. Pray for our oldest daughter, Melissa, as she finishes her senior year at VCS and applies to colleges in the US. Pray for the Lord to direct her to the right place to study and for the finances she'll need to stay in college. Thanks for praying.

Charley and Cheryl Warner
Barnabas International
Based in Vienna, Austria
Missionaries to the former Soviet Union since 1987
------------------------------------------------------------

Transition back to living in Vienna

Greetings to everyone.

The last two months have been extremely busy for all of our family members. The good-byes happened early in the summer, as we packed up our belongings, snatched treasured moments with family and friends, attended our last services at College Church, shed some tears, and left. This was, of course, protracted a bit because we left at four different times and were also saying good-bye to each other! The truth is, we miss all of you when we are across the ocean, and we also miss our friends in Europe when we are in the U.S. But one good-bye leads to another hello, and we’ve said many of those since our return. We have moved back into the house we rented here eight years ago, and our dog has happily rejoined us (plus two new guinea pigs). Charley has already been to Ukraine and Armenia, our daughters who were on mission trips in Tanzania and Mexico have returned, and we have reconnected with many friends in Vienna. Here are the details.

Charley in Ukraine
Charley stopped off in Vienna for only one night in June before going to Odessa, Ukraine, for board meetings of the Euro-Asian Accrediting Association and two conferences on distance education/online learning. He also traveled to Cherkassy to work with Victor Sinelnikov, a former student who is assisting Charley with the English-Russian glossary of theological terminology. Kiev was his final stop on that trip.

Elizabeth in Tanzania
Elizabeth, 15, spent a rigorous two weeks at Teen Missions’ boot camp in Florida before embarking on her trip to Tanzania with a team of sixteen young short-term missionaries plus leaders. She did very well with a physically demanding regime, made strong ties with her teammates, and had a very positive experience. They made evangelistic presentations in schools in the Mt. Kilimanjaro region and saw many students make spiritual decisions. The team also began construction work on a building at the Teen Missions site. We were thankful Elizabeth was not troubled by migraine headaches or other illness—thanks for praying for that. It’s wonderful to see how God used this to stretch her and deepen her walk with Him. (Check out http://www.teenmissions.org/ and click on 2007 Teams Overseas Team Address & Reports, then 07022 Mt. Kilimanjaro Backpack.)

Melissa in Mexico
Melissa, 17, joined the College Church short-term adult missions project in LaPaz, Mexico, for a week in July. The group assisted with a vacation Bible school in a troubled area of the city for children whose homes are affected by drugs and alcohol. The VBS helped career missionaries make contacts and deepen relationships with people in this needy area. The team also painted, cleaned, and helped with other projects at a women’s shelter. Melissa was also stretched by this look at a different part of the world and saw first-hand that people everywhere need the Lord. Following her trip, Melissa spent three days in Wheaton saying her own good-byes before joining us in Vienna. We are so thankful for the role that College Church played in her life this past year and pray for God to direct her steps as she prepares to leave home next year.

STAMP Armenia
In July Charley joined a College Church mission team in Armenia for a project he helped initiate there. A very sharp group of young adults assisted the development of a church plant by running a VBS and visiting people in their homes. They survived extreme heat and other obstacles in order to share Christ with these lovely people who need a gospel witness in their area. Charley helped with logistics, troubleshooting, and communication, using both his Russian and knowledge of how things generally work there.

Budapest in September
From September 27-30 Charley will be in Budapest for the 2nd Central European Member Care Conference. Pray for the talk he’ll be giving on “The Role of the Local Church in Caring for Missionaries.”

Future Ministry Travel/Activities
Sept. 10-12 Charley visits with missionaries in Prague.
Sept. 27-30 Charley in Budapest for the Central European Member Care Consultation.
Oct. 20-27 Charley in Kiev for the 10th anniversary meetings of the Euro-Asian Accrediting Association.
Nov. 14-18 Charley in Budapest for the European Evangelical Missions Association meetings.

Financial Update
We reached our support raising goal for one-time and all but $400/month. Thanks to everyone who has helped us return to the field. We’re still not fully supported, but we’re in a much better situation than one year ago. Please pray that we would be wise in using the finances the Lord has given us.

Thanksgiving and prayer items
1. Praise for reaching our support raising goal for one-time and all but $400/month.
2. Pray for wisdom as to which Vienna-based ministries we should be involved in.
3. Pray for Charley as he continues to battle allergies (including HSP: hypersensitivity pneumonitis).
4. Pray that we can finish our unpacking soon. It’s been a long transition back.
5. Thanks for a great year in the U.S. for our family and the opportunity to return to the field.

“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy” (Psalm 126:3).

Charley and Cheryl Warner
---------------------------------------------------
Communicating with the Warners
Warner family blog-->www.ccwarner.blogspot.com
Warners’ Electronic Updates-->If you, your church or anyone else you know would like to receive our Electronic Updates, then please send us your e-mail address and we’ll include you.
Skype over the Internet-->Our Skype contact ID is: ccwarner (For more information www.skype.com)

FIELD ADDRESS:
Pröpstlgasse 9
A-1220 Vienna, Austria
Home phone from the US: (011) 43-1-734-5541
Charley’s cell from the US: (011) 43-664-546-3314
Cheryl’s cell from the US: (011) 43-664-546-6289

warner@barnabas.org (general)
cheryl@barnabas.org (personal)
Skype phone: 630-687-1426

Tax-deductible gifts for the Warners’ ministry may be sent to:
Barnabas International, PO Box 11211, Rockford, IL 61126-1211 USA
--------------------------------------------

Furlough ends--Warners return to Vienna

Greetings friends.

Our time on furlough in the States has come to an end. Whew! It's a busy summer.

The picture (below) of our four girls (Laura, Elizabeth, Melissa, and Emily) was taken on June 17th the last night they'll all be together until August 16th. We are now packing and saying our final good-byes at the end of this furlough year in America, getting ready for the next step. Here are the details.

Future Ministry Travel/Activities
June 9-13 Barnabas International staff and board meetings at Judson College in Elgin, Illinois.

June 18 Farewell Open House at College Church in Wheaton starting at 7:00 p.m.

June 19 Elizabeth leaves for Teen Missions Boot Camp in Merritt Island, Florida, before going on a missions trip to Tanzania for the summer.

June 20-21 Charley returns to Vienna and then straight to Ukraine for EAAA Board meetings.

June 22-July 3 Ukraine—In Odessa Charley will attend two conferences on distance education/online learning, and has spring EAAA Board meetings. Then on to Cherkassy to work with a translator, Victor Sinelnikov, one of Charley’s former students, to finish the rough draft of his “English-Russian Glossary of Theological Terminology.” After that he’ll be in Kiev to see some missionaries. Finally he returns to Vienna to get our house ready for the arrival of the rest of our family.

June 22-30 Cheryl, Melissa, Laura, and Emily visit her family in Texas and Louisiana.

July 7-14 Melissa goes on a College Church mission trip to La Paz, Mexico.

July 10-11 Cheryl, Emily, and Laura return to Vienna.

July 17-18 Melissa returns to Vienna.

July 19-Aug 2 Charley in Armenia with College Church mission team (if funds allow).

August 16 Elizabeth returns to Vienna after her summer in Tanzania, Africa.

August 23 School starts for all four girls at Vienna Christian School.

Sept. 27-30 Charley in Budapest for the Central European Member Care Consultation.

Last Financial Update—You can help us get back to the field!
This is our last financial update before we return to Vienna. Our heartfelt thanks go to our support team of several churches and many long-time individual supporters, and also many thanks to those who have recently begun partnering with us. With just days to go before our return, you can play a part in helping us get back to the mission field fully supported. Here is where we stand:

Monthly Support
1,600 /month
- 700/month
$ 900/month left to raise

One-time back to the field expenses
$ 8,000
- 6,000
$ 2,000 left to raise

Our biggest need is for new or increased monthly support. Contributions can be sent to Barnabas International with a note directing the gift to our account. Please also indicate whether it is for monthly or one-time support. We appreciate your prayers for this and know that God is at work.

NOTE: Unfortunately, due to our lack of increased monthly support we’ve had to cancel three ministry trips scheduled for this summer and fall. If this shortfall in monthly support continues, then next spring 2008 we will have to seriously consider whether or not we can stay on the mission field any longer. We are trying to be fiscally prudent. However, with the US Dollar still weak against the Euro we must consider all options.

The Warner Family Blog
Check out our blog, or online diary, on our family and ministry. It’s pretty basic at the moment, but soon we hope to add photos and other important links. Here’s the website: http://ccwarner.blogspot.com/

Furlough Ending
During the first week of July, Cheryl will stay in Wheaton to finish cleaning and checking out of our furlough home, while Charley will be in Vienna getting our house there in order. For him this involves retrieving all our personal belongings from basement storage, setting up computers, etc. It’s a lot of work on both ends and is physically demanding. Please pray that our transition will go smoothly.

Thanksgiving and prayer items
1. Our renewed passports have all arrived and our return tickets are paid for!

2. Some new support has come in and we are closer to our goal of returning to Austria fully funded.

3. Pray for Charley as he continues to battle allergies (including HSP: hypersensitivity pneumonitis).

4. Pray for final packing, cleaning, and good-byes, and unpacking, settling, and hellos on the other side.

5. Pray for Charley’s dad as he continues to recover from prostate cancer surgery. Charley visited in May.

6. Pray for Elizabeth (15) while she’s in Africa for the summer with Teen Missions (June
19-August 16). She has recently battled migraine headaches, and we pray this will not
occur on this trip.

7. Pray for Melissa (17) as she is on a short-term missions trip to La Paz, Mexico (July 7-14) and then traveling alone to Austria July 17.

8. Thanks for a great year in the U.S. for our family and the opportunity to return to the field.

“For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise.
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice” (Psalm 96:4; 97:1).

Charley and Cheryl Warner
Barnabas International
Vienna, Austria
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Communicating with the Warners
--Warner family blogàwww.ccwarner.blogspot.com
--Warners’ Electronic UpdatesàIf you, your church or anyone else you know would like to receive our Electronic Updates, then please send us your e-mail address and we’ll include you.
--Skype over the Internet--Our Skype contact ID is: ccwarner (For more information www.skype.com)

FIELD ADDRESS (after July 1, 2007):
Pröpstlgasse 9
A-1220 Vienna, Austria
Home phone from the US: (011) 43-1-734-5541

warner@barnabas.org (general)

cheryl@barnabas.org (personal)

Skype phone: 630-687-1426

FURLOUGH ADDRESS (until June 25th):
P. The doctors have told Charley's brother, John, who was at the hospital with his mother, that the surgery was a success.

Dick seems to be doing well, although still a little bit groggy from the surgery and from being attended to every hour all night. Despite the limitations of Charley’s sprained ankle and being on crutches, we had a great visit with his sister Barb and her family and enjoyed seeing many other friends, relatives, and missionaries.

On April 22, we visited the Oxford Bible Fellowship in Oxford, Ohio, the church Charley attended while at university. Charley preached from John 10 in two morning services and we shared our ministry. This was the final of our visits to seven supporting churches in Ohio, Minnesota, California, Florida, and Illinois.

Financial Update—You can help us get back to the field!
We’re coming to the end of our time on furlough in the USA. You can play a part in helping us get back to the mission field fully supported. If you’ve been waiting to give, now is the time to give. Here are our current financial needs:

Needed to raise on furlough Amount raised so far Still needed to raise
$1,600/monthly support $ 625/monthly support $ 975/monthly support still needed

$ 8,000 one-time $ 4,000 one-time support $ 4,000 one-time support still needed

Some new individuals have joined our regular support team in recent months. Thank you! However, we have also experienced the loss of some regular support and our account at Barnabas International is still in the red. Therefore, we are still looking for consistent monthly support of around $ 975 per month and one-time support of $ 4,000 so that we can return to Austria fully funded.

If you do send something in to Barnabas please be sure to indicate if it’s for monthly or one-time support. We appreciate your prayers for this and know that God is at work.

It's been a tough last three weeks for our relatives
Once a missionary is on the field it's hard to come home for a relative's illness, significant change or even homegoing. Here's a little of what our relatives have encountered:

1. Charley's father, Dick, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and will have surgery on April 30th to have it removed. Charley will fly down to Florida to be with and help his parents May 10-17. Charley returns to Vienna on June 20th.

2. Charley's mother, Virginia, suddenly blacked out at home and is being treated for a variety of ailments including thyroid problems. She's doing fine now but is going through some more tests.

3. Cheryl's dad, Dick, fell and injured his side. After a trip to the ER he recovered at home.

4. Cheryl's mom, Dotti, has made the decision to retire from teaching. Praise the Lord for her many years of faithful service!

5. Our niece Kathryn will ill with meningitis but has, thankfully, recovered.

6. Charley’s ankle injury is getting better but it’s not doing as well as he had hoped by now. He has two more weeks of physical therapy and hopes to be all better by the end of May.

All this in less than three weeks! We would appreciate your prayers. When we return to the field, please pray for us as we feel the distance from our family.

The Warner Family Blog
We are now in the process of writing a regular blog, or online diary, on our family and ministry. It’s pretty basic at the moment, but soon we hope to add photos and other important links. Here’s the website:

http://ccwarner.blogspot.com

Future Ministry Travel/Activities
2007
April 20-22 Ohio—Visiting Oxford Bible Fellowship in Oxford, Ohio.

April 25-26 Charley receives further training in Peacemakers ministry, level 3, in St. Louis.

May 10-17 Charley in Florida with his parents after his dad’s cancer surgery.

May 19 Support-raising dessert in the Wheaton area (contact us for details).

June 9-13 Barnabas International staff and board meetings at Judson College in Elgin, Illinois.

June 18 Farewell Open House at College Church in Wheaton starting at 7:00 p.m.

June 19 Our daughter Elizabeth leaves for Teen Missions Boot Camp in Merritt Island, Florida before going on a missions trip to Tanzania for the summer.

June 20 Charley returns to Vienna and then straight to Ukraine for EAAA Board meetings.

June 22-July 3 Ukraine—In Odessa Charley will attend two conferences on distance education/online learning, and has spring EAAA Board meetings. Then on to Cherkassy to work with a translator, Victor Sinelnikov, one of Charley’s former students, to finish the rough draft of his “English-Russian Glossary of Theological Terminology.” After that he’ll be in Kiev see some missionaries. Finally he returns to Vienna to get our house ready for the arrival of the rest of our family.

July 7-14 Our daughter Melissa goes on a College Church mission trip to La Paz, Mexico.

July 10 Cheryl, Emily, and Laura return to Vienna

July 17 Melissa returns to Vienna

August 16 Elizabeth returns to Vienna after her summer in Africa

Furlough ending
There’s a lot of planning and logistics involved in ending our furlough right and in planning the beginning of our next term on the field. We’ve already begun some of this. But it will hit us like a flurry in June. Because I will leave for Europe on June 20th Cheryl will be responsible for checking out of our furlough home in Wheaton. This can be as much as three days cleaning in addition to paying final utility, saying goodbye to friends and family, along with many other last-minute details.

Because Charley will be in Vienna by July 3rd (that is, after his two week trip to Ukraine) he’ll take on the responsibility of getting our house in order. This might not sound like a lot of work. But it will be as all our personal belongings (books, clothes, computer monitors, etc.) were stored in the basement. Pray that our transition at both ends will go smoothly.

Thanksgiving and prayer items
1. Pray for our continued ministries of encouragement among missionaries and national church leaders.

2. Pray for Charley as he recovers from a bout with his severe allergy (HSP) and a severely sprained ankle.

3. Pray for new support so that we can return to Austria fully funded.

4. Pray for ending furlough well and planning for the beginning of our next term on the field.

5. Pray for Charley’s dad during his surgery April 30 and the following recovery.

6. Pray for Elizabeth (15) as she prepares to go to Africa for the summer with Teen Missions.

7. Pray for Melissa (17) as she visits universities, takes AP tests, and finishes her junior of high school.

8. Thanks for great visits with seven supporting churches and for our many other individual supporters.

Thanks for staying in touch and upholding us as we seek to carry out God’s call. We thank God for you and so much appreciate your support of our family in prayer.

Charley and Cheryl Warner
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Communicating with the Warners

Warner family blog: www.ccwarner.blogspot.com

Warners’ Electronic Updates: If you, your church or anyone else you know would like to receive our Electronic Updates, then please send us your e-mail address and we’ll include you.

Skype over the Internet: Our Skype contact ID is: ccwarner (Info at: www.skype.com)

FURLOUGH ADDRESS (until June 30th):
P. As you know from your own ministry, once a missionary's on the field it's hard to come home for a relative's illness, significant change or even homegoing. Here's a little of what are relatives have encountered:

1. Charley's father, Dick, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and will have surgery on April 30th to have it removed. Charley will fly down to Florida to be with and help out his parents May 10-17. Charley returns to Vienna on June 20th.

2. Charley's mother, Virginia, suddenly blacked out at home and is being treated for a variety of ailments including thyroid problems. She's doing fine now but is going through some more tests. This is not the first time she has blacked out for no apparent reason over the last thirty years. Fortunately, this episode was not like the last one when she passed out in flight over Texas and the plane had to make an emergency landing at DFW.

3. Cheryl's dad, Dick, slipped off a short ladder and injured his hip and leg. After a trip to the ER he's recovering at home.

4. Cheryl's mom, Dottie, has made the decision to retire from teaching after 50 plus years. This is a huge change for her, for Dick, and for Cheryl's entire family.

5. Our niece, Kathryn, came down with viral meningitis. Fortunately it was not the bacterial type which is much more virulent. She's almost back to normal life now.

All this in less than three weeks!

Everyone would appreciate your prayers. When we return to the field please pray for us as we need to be wise as to when we should return to the States.

Thanks.

Charley and Cheryl

Hello friends.

Thank you for your prayers during what has been a busy season of travel, peppered with a new appreciation for the proper function of an ankle. Since spraining his ankle February 22, Charley has had multiple visits to an orthopedist and physical therapist. During four weeks on crutches, we discovered that California's winter weather is kinder than Minnesota's. Charley is now walking again, but still going regularly to physical therapy. Thanks for your continued prayers for his complete healing.

Travels in February and March
It was wonderful to be with people in five of our supporting churches in February and March (Fort Myers, Florida; Wheaton, Illinois; Rochester, Minnesota; and Long Beach and Thousand Oaks, California). We so much appreciate our support team and the many churches and individuals who pray for us and give regularly so that this ministry can continue.

A few new supporters have committed to giving, and we are grateful for that while we look to the Lord to bring in the remainder of our monthly and one-time support needs.

Thank you for your part, and God bless you.

Charley and Cheryl Warner

Warners' March 2007 Prayer Letter

Greetings.

Here's our March 2007 prayer letter.

Cheers.

Charley and Cheryl Warner
Barnabas International
Vienna, Austria
-----------------------------------------------------------------
March 2007
Vol. 21, No. 3

Dear Friends,

We have now entered the last stretch of our 2006-2007 furlough. It’s been a good 8 months so far. But our minds have already started to look forward to Vienna, our “second” home.

Update on Charley’s health
As many of you know the third week in February was not the best for Charley. First he had extreme shortness and slowness of breath and a reaction to some medicine he was taking for a persistent cough. We finally made it to the emergency room at our local hospital. After an EKG, chest xray and chest CAT scan the emergency room doctor determined that he had had an asthma attack and treated him with albuterol. The only problem was...this was not the problem! Charley went home and later in the day, as his breathing became worse again went to his allergy and asthma doctor who correctly diagnosed that Charley had actually had an attack of hypersensitivity pneumonitis or HSP, compounded by a reaction to the medication he was taking. Charley was put on steroids and over the course of 36 hours recovered to normal breathing again. Just to breath normally is a blessing.

Then, a few days later Charley went out side to retrieve our trash can which had rolled into the street in front of our house blocking traffic. As he stepped on the sidewalk he slid on some black ice and severely strained his left ankle. If you've ever seen those NFL football replays when it shows a player's ankle in an unnatural twisted position thus being injured, then you get a picture of what happened. Another trip to the doctor's office, more xrays and examinations. Fortunately, his ankle was not broken or he'd be facing 8 weeks in a cast. It is, however, severely sprained with a slight tear of the deltoid ligament. He'll be getting around on crutches and a boot for the next two weeks. Pray especially for our flight to LA and getting around southern California.

Finances Update
Needed to raise on furlough Amount raised so far Still needed to raise
$1,600/monthly support $ 400/monthly support $ 1,200/monthly needed

$ 8,000 one-time $ 2,000 one-time support $ 6,000 one-time needed

Some new individuals have joined our regular support team in recent months. Thank you! However, we have also experienced the loss of some regular support and our account at Barnabas International is still in the red.
Therefore, we are still looking for consistent monthly support of around $1,200 per month and one-time support of $ 6,000 so that we can return to Austria fully funded. We appreciate your prayers for this and know that God is at work.

Travel
February saw us at missions conferences at College Church in Wheaton, Illinois, McGregor Baptist Church in Ft. Myers, Florida and a brief visit to Calvary EFree in Rochester, Minnesota, which had a snow storm while we were there. While in Minnesota Charley also gave two seminars on “Caring for Missionaries on Furlough” at the Midwest Conference on Missionary Care in Roseville. All three visits went very well. Thanks for praying for our safety while traveling.

Future Ministry Travel/Activities
2007
March 9-22 California—Visiting Bethany Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Lakewood.
March 23- Illinois and Ohio—Visiting churches and supporters (probable trip).
April 1
April 20-22 Ohio—Visiting Oxford Bible Fellowship in Oxford, Ohio.
April 25-26 Charley receives further training in Peacemakers ministry, level 3, in St. Louis.
June 22 Charley returns to Vienna and immediately goes to Odessa, Ukraine for EAAA Board meetings. Also, our daughter Elizabeth goes to Africa for a summer ministry with Teen Missions.
July 9 Cheryl and the girls return to Vienna

As you receive this prayer letter we will have already begun our trip to southern California. We will first visit First Baptist Church of Lakewood (March 11) where Cheryl’s father was Minister of Music in the mid-1960s and where Cheryl became a Christian. Then we’ll be visiting Bethany Baptist Church in Thousand Oaks (March 18) where Cheryl’s family were members for five years. If you live in southern California, we would like to see you. Please get in touch with us so we can make plans to get together.

Thanksgiving and prayer items
1. Pray for our continued ministries of encouragement among missionaries and national church leaders.
2. Pray for Cheryl as she works from home copyediting books for Barnabas International and helping launch an online magazine, “Encouragement Online,” which debuted in January 2007.
3. Pray for Charley as he recovers from a bout with his severe allergy (HSP) and a severely sprained ankle.
4. Pray for new support so that we can return to Austria fully funded.
5. Praise God for freedom to worship as we please
6. Pray for safe travels. We still have a lot of travel before we return to Vienna at the end of June 2007.

Thank you for your partnership in serving the church and missionaries in Central Europe and the former Soviet Union. Here's our January/February 2007 prayer letter.

ATB,

Charley and Cheryl Warner
Barnabas International
Vienna, Austria
--------------------------------------------------------
January-February 2007
Vol. 21, No. 1-2

Dear Friends,

“Are we there yet?” If your family has ever taken a long road trip, you have heard this question. We’ve had two very long road trips in the last few months and heard that question often, coupled with “How much longer?” It’s a question we sometimes ask ourselves in ministry as well. We can’t measure our progress on a mileage chart, but we do stop to evaluate how things are going as we endeavor to care for missionaries, train national church leaders, and disciple believers. These are tasks that will continue. There will always be missionaries who need encouragement, emerging church leaders who are being equipped, and Christians in the local church who want to grow. We have ministered to many such people in the past 20 years; their faces are in our minds and hearts as we write, though we usually cannot share their stories. The questions seem more pressing applied to our own children. For Melissa, turning 17 soon, “how much longer?” has a clear answer: three semesters to go before graduation in 2008. Elizabeth’s turn will come just two years later. So are we there yet? We continue to run the lifelong race, determined to be anchored in Christ and faithful to Him. What follows are some stops on the journey.

Travel
Charley traveled to Washington, DC in mid-November to attend two conferences: Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) and the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies (AAASS). The ETS conference was especially important because the outgoing ETS President is one of our supporters, Edwin Yamauchi. Ed, thanks for your faithful service to the cause of evangelical theology. We appreciate you! The AAASS conference is the main gathering for scholars in Russian and Central European Studies. It was Charley’s first time to attend this conference. He attended many seminars and workshops on the current political and religious situation in Russia, which is beneficial for doing our ministry to missionaries better.

Future Ministry Travel/Activities
2007
Feb. 2-5 Illinois—Winter Missions Festival at College Church in Wheaton, Illinois
Feb. 5-13 Florida—Global Impact Celebration at McGregor Baptist Church in Fort Myers, Florida
Feb. 23-25 Minnesota—Charley gives a seminar on “Caring for Missionaries on Furlough” at the Midwest Conference on Missionary Care in Roseville, Minnesota (suburban Minneapolis)
March 9-22 California—Visiting Bethany Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Lakewood
March 23- Ohio—Visiting churches and supporters (probable trip)
April 1
June 21 Charley returns to Vienna and immediately goes to Odessa, Ukraine for EAAA Board meetings. Also, our daughter Elizabeth goes to Africa for a summer ministry with Teen Missions.
July 9 Cheryl and the girls return to Vienna

In late November, our entire family traveled by car to Texas (Thanksgiving with Cheryl’s family), and then after Christmas we drove to Florida to see Charley’s family. We were blessed with beautiful warm weather in both places and thankful to spend time with our extended families. In between those two trips, the girls stayed behind while the two of us flew to Charlotte, North Carolina, to share our ministry with potential supporters. This was also a special time of connecting with friends and getting away together. Then Charley stayed on to attend the Pastors to Missionaries seminar, an annual seminar sponsored by Barnabas International designed for those who care for missionaries.

February sees us at missions conferences at College Church in Wheaton, Illinois and at McGregor Baptist Church in Ft. Myers, Florida. At the end of February Charley gives a seminar on “Caring for Missionaries on Furlough” at the Midwest Conference on Missionary Care in Roseville, Minnesota.

March 9-22 we will be in southern California visiting First Baptist Church of Lakewood (March 11) and Bethany Baptist Church in Thousand Oaks (March 18). If you live in California or Florida, we would like to see you. Please get in touch with us so we can make plans to get together.

Finances
We wrote in November that our financial situation has been critical in recent months. Because of several months of shortfall, our account at Barnabas was in the red. We are grateful that some large one-time gifts have helped reduce this deficit. We even received a large gift from an anonymous donor which was very touching—thank you to that quiet, humble soul whose identity we do not know. Also, our house in Vienna has now been sublet to new missionaries who will rent it until we return, and this is a big boost to our month-to-month situation. Some new individuals have joined our regular support team in recent months. Thank you to you, too! However, we have also experienced the loss of some regular support. Therefore, we are still looking for consistent monthly support of around $1,600 per month so that we can return to Austria fully funded. We appreciate your prayers for this and know that God is at work.

Thanksgiving and prayer items
1. Pray for our continued ministries of encouragement among missionaries and national church leaders.
2. Pray for Cheryl as she works from home copyediting books for Barnabas International and helping launch an online magazine, “Encouragement Online,” which debuts in January 2007.
3. Praise for a subletter for our house in Vienna. They moved in on January 6, 2007. Thanks for praying!
4. Pray for new support so that we can return to Austria fully funded.
5. Praise God for Emily’s improved health and pray for the same for Charley.
6. Pray for safety in travels. Our traveling really picks up in early February 2007.

Thank you for your partnership in serving the church and missionaries in Central Europe and the former Soviet Union. We appreciate you and hope to see many of you soon!

Charley and Cheryl Warner
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Communicating with the Warners

Skype over the InternetàOur Skype contact ID is: ccwarner (For more information www.skype.com)
Warners’ Electronic Updates--If you, your church or anyone else you know would like to receive our Electronic Updates, then please send us your e-mail address and we’ll include you.

FURLOUGH ADDRESS:
P. Although Charley doesn't have a break or a fracture, the specialist advised him to wear an air boot (up to the knee) for the next month.

Charley's ankle is badly sprained and there's a good possibility of some slight ligament damage. The choice was a cast for four weeks or a removable boot. We chose the boot. He starts physical therapy next week.

Please pray for us as we travel to LA on March 9th (next Friday) for two weeks of visiting supporters and relatives. First was the sticker shock of having to buy prescription medicines in the USA. When did everything get to be so expensive!

2. Then, on Monday morning at 2:00 AM Charley was admitted to the ER of our local hospital due to slow and shallow breathing, i.e., his lungs were slowly shutting down. After an EKG, chest xray and chest CAT scan the emergency room doctor determined that he had had an asthma attack and treated him with albuterol. The only problem was...this was not the problem! Charley went home and later in the day, as his breathing became worse again went to his allergy and asthma doctor who correctly diagnosed that Charley had actually had an attack of hypersensitivity pneumanitis or HSP, compounded by a reaction to the medication he was taking. Charley was put on steroids and over the course of 36 hours recovered to normal breathing again. Just to breath normally is a blessing.

3. And now this morning. Charley went out side to retrieve our trash can which had rolled into the street in front of our house blocking traffic.

It is, however, severely sprained and he'll be getting around on crutches for the next week.

Also, last week Cheryl was rear ended in a fender-bender accident.

It feels like we're really under spiritual attack. We'd really appreciate your prayers for:
--protection from the evil one
--better health for Charley
--safe driving to a Minneapolis on Friday for two missions conferences one of which Charley is giving two seminars on Caring for Missionaries on Furlough and the other is visiting with one of our supporting churches
--Calvary EFree in Rochester, Minnesota
--that our kids will due well this weekend staying with friends (It's just the two of us going up to Minnesota.)
--March 9-22 both of us will be in southern California visiting relatives and two supporting churches: First Baptist Church of Lakewood and Bethany Baptist Church in Thousand Oaks.
--We've been able to raise about $ 400 of the $ 1600 additional monthly support that we need to return to the mission field and about $ 2,000 of the $ 8,000 one time support that we need to return to the mission field in July 2007.

Please pray that the Lord would do this for us.

Thanks for praying.

Charley and Cheryl Warner
Barnabas International
Vienna, Austria

Thanks for your prayer and financial support.
